A refreshing alternative to the traditional music class for kids! Music for Aardvarks is distinct from other children’s music programs in that all classes are based on Brooklyn musician/composer David Weinstone’s original songs, rhythms, and chants. With influences of rock, blues, ballads, folk, jazz and pop, Aardvark songs uniquely reflect and celebrate the lives of children growing up today. The music is innovative, intelligent, and irresistibly appealing to both kids and their parents. Our informal, spirited classes are geared toward children 3 months to 6 years old and incorporate singing, dancing, musical storytelling, instrumental jam sessions and more. It’s an interactive musical experience that the whole family can genuinely get excited about!
Appropriate for ages 6mths-6years and grown ups too!
A perfect combination of Art and Exploration! Children will spend each class, learning about various seasonal items and animals, such as flowers, bugs, rain and much more! The Creative Corner Programs are based on the progressive model of education. We encourage children to explore, create, and learn through a variety of teaching methods. Our philosophy is built on the idea that a child’s education is developed through their experiences with the outside world. Activities are designed to meet all learning styles and are developmentally appropriate. We believe in the importance of social skills and community in forming strong foundations for learning.
The Creative Corner Preschool classroom encourages an excitement for learning by facilitating opportunities where your child’s curiosity is stimulated by hands on experiences. We value and embrace the innocence of childhood, and aim to create experiences through a focus on the creative process, and not the final product. We encourage children to get messy, move freely and explore the world around them in a safe, structured and, of course, fun environment.
The Creative Corner Kindergarten Program offers an opportunity for children to learn beyond the kindergarten classroom. Designed to support your child’s growth and development, we explore and investigate a variety of developmentally appropriate topics and areas of study. We support social skill development, citizenship, and a love for nature. Our year consists of activities based around the children’s individual and group interests. We are the perfect complement to your child’s kindergarten school year.

Amy has been heavily influenced by the Reggio Emilia school of philosophy which assists children in learning respect, responsibility, and community through exploration and discovery in a supportive and enriching environment.
Lauren Fremont brings 15 years of preschool classroom experience to our Creative Corner Early Education Enrichment Programs. Most recently she worked with the Haverford Recreation Department to set up the Little Explorers preschool program – developing the curriculum, mentoring staff, and leading the classroom instruction. She graduated from West Chester University with a Bachelors in Education.
Lauren developed a passion for progressive education during her time at the School in Rose Valley. Her years there guided her to focus on instilling children with a love for learning. The curriculum does this by encouraging active and excited learning in challenging and fun learning environments. Her instructional methods allow for all children to be invested, passionate and successful.
Lauren also works as a social skills instructor for children with Special Needs. She is a mother to 3 growing boys (ages 17, 12, and 8) who help her remember that everyday brings something new and learning happens all the time.
Janiene Kwoczak has been an art educator since 2006, teaching students of all ages in both traditional and non traditional settings. Her academic background includes a Bachelor of Fine Arts from Temple University, Tyler School of Art with a major in Sculpture and an Art Education concentration.
Janiene’s passion for the arts comes from a philosophy that art education not only helps students express their creativity but gives them, regardless of age or ability, a personalized outlet for self expression. Creating art is a process and should be centered on the journey and not just the final product. Janiene has found that the creative arts reinforce other academic disciplines and can influence and shape a person into a more culturally aware and well rounded individual.
Janiene has worked at the Creative Clubhouse since January of 2012. She lives in Havertown with her husband Nick and daughter Phoebe.

Katie’s background in working with children has come from a variety of settings. She has taught in public schools, worked at a summer camp, been a tutor and enjoyed teaching school aged children on a 4 month road trip. She is happy to be back at the Creative Clubhouse doing what she loves.
