A refreshing alternative to the traditional music class for kids! Music for Aardvarks is distinct from other children’s music programs in that all classes are based on Brooklyn musician/composer David Weinstone’s original songs, rhythms, and chants. With influences of rock, blues, ballads, folk, jazz and pop, Aardvark songs uniquely reflect and celebrate the lives of children growing up today. The music is innovative, intelligent, and irresistibly appealing to both kids and their parents. Our informal, spirited classes are geared toward children 3 months to 6 years old and incorporate singing, dancing, musical storytelling, instrumental jam sessions and more. Based on a progressive school model, all lessons will be inspired by the interests and ideas of the children. Activities are designed to meet all learning styles and are developmentally appropriate. Most importantly, when a child gets excited about an idea, we will encourage them to look more closely and learn through their experiences with it. The importance of social skills and community will also form a foundation of the program.

The Clubhouse philosophy is built on the idea that a child’s education is developed through their experiences with the outside world. The Creative Clubhouse offers classes that encourage an excitement for learning by allowing opportunities where a child’s curiosity is stimulated by hands on experiences. We value and embrace the innocence of childhood, and aim to create experiences through that focus on the creative process, and not the final product. We encourage children to get messy, move freely and explore the world around them in a safe, structured and, of course, fun environment.
Janiene Kwoczak has been an art educator since 2006, teaching students of all ages in both traditional and non traditional settings. Her academic background includes a Bachelor of Fine Arts from Temple University, Tyler School of Art with a major in Sculpture and an Art Education concentration.
Janiene’s passion for the arts comes from a philosophy that art education not only helps students express their creativity but gives them, regardless of age or ability, a personalized outlet for self expression. Creating art is a process and should be centered on the journey and not just the final product. Janiene has found that the creative arts reinforce other academic disciplines and can influence and shape a person into a more culturally aware and well rounded individual.

Art has always been her number one interest and hobby since she was a child. Painting, sketching and photography are some of her favorite things. Her enjoyment in art exploration as well as her positive and energetic personality have been a fabulous addition to the Clubhouse!
